Empathy

A term that is getting a lot of airplay these days is “empathy”, and we are often told to be more empathic for business and personal success. Empathy is the ability to sense the feelings of others, and at its sharpest, can be used to decipher another person’s motives, and can be even used against them. However, we at ProDentalFx do not talk specifically about empathy; we try to harness it to produce the best possible patient experience and outcome. Dr. Marra Alcantara is sensitive to her patient’s needs and fears, which quite commonly in the dental office is fear of pain, among other emotions. She uses special care in giving anesthetic injections, so that they are as close to painless as possible.  When we talk about the expense of dentistry, she has created an in-house discount plan and our treatment coordinator is trained to find every way possible to get you to your treatment destination in the most painless way possible financially.
